We take every engagement seriously. Our staff are trained to receive the process server should they call at our office. Once the documents for service are cross checked with our database of records, and proper service has been made, you will be immediately informed.

What is a process agent?

A process agent is someone who represents you, in a country where you do not have a presence, in order that they (the process agent) can receive, on your behalf, service of process.

Service of process is the procedure by which a party to a lawsuit gives notice of legal action to another party (i.e. you) in an effort to enable that other party (i.e. you) to respond to that legal action in a court of law.

These are the 4 steps involved.

1. An agreement

There exists an agreement between yourself and a party you are contracting with.

2. No presence in Singapore

You are either a non-Singapore entity or not a Singaporean citizen and therefore do not have a presence in Singapore nor anyone based in Singapore to receive service of those legal proceedings.

3. Process agent clause

In that agreement there is a process agent clause whereby you are to nominate someone to act as your agents in the event your contracting party decides to serve legal proceedings upon you.

4. We act as your process agents

You complete our letter of engagement, settle the relevant fees and we are then engaged to be your process agents from that point onwards.

Jurisdiction

Singapore as a forum

Singapore as a forum to settle disputes is an excellent choice.

EFFICIENT AND SPECIALIZED COURTS

Singapore prides itself in having a very efficient court system, with no backlog of cases and which can see a matter through from start to finish in the most efficient time and manner possible. Justice delayed is justice denied, so the system strives to ensure there is no delay.

MATURE JURISPRUDENCE

Singapore has had enough time now to develop and to grow its own jurisprudence, based on the system of common law. Its jurisprudence is rich and now already deep enough to be able to handle all manner of cases.

EXPERTS IN EVERY FIELD

There are not only specialized courts such as the admiralty courts set up to handle maritime matters but the Singapore bar has leading experts in nearly every field of law.

ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTIONS

Other methods of resolving disputes are mediation and arbitration, the latter of which is particularly strong in Singapore.

Notarisation and Legalisation services?

Our Mr Colin Jarraw is a Singapore Notary Public as well as a Singapore Commissioner for Oaths.

We are able to notarize documents for you and to also have them authenticated (by way of Apostille) by the Singapore Acadamy of Law. We provide a full range of  notarial services at affordable fees and fast turnaround times. Please contact us to let us know what it is that you require.

What is ‘notarisation’?

Notarisation usually refers to a Notary Public affixing his or her signature and official seal to a document, whether to certify the signing of a document in their presence, or to verify some fact or thing of which the Notary Public has certain knowledge

Following attestation of a document, the Notary will stamp the document and issue a Notarial Certificate which must then be Authenticated/Apostilled by the Singapore Academy of Law.

How long will it take?

Mandatory authentication of every Notarial Certificate is done by bringing the physical Notarial Certificate to the Singapore Acadamy of Law. We will take care of this. The average processing time is 1-2 working days and we will contact you once your documents are ready for collection. If you require urgent processing, please let us know.

What are the costs involved?

The notarial fees chargeable are as per the Notaries Public Rules. In addition, there are fees imposed by the Singapore Academy of Law for its authentication services.

What should I bring with me?

You should bring:

1.  the document(s) to be signed or the original document;

2. a Government issued photo identification e.g. Identity Card, Passport, Work Pass;

3. any special instructions; and

4. other documents as may be required and advised, if any.

Our fees

How we charge (for process agent services).

We charge according to a few factors. Below are the principles on how we charge. Please contact us for a fee quote, which we would be happy to provide.

The number of companies

The fees range depending on how many companies we need to manage and to monitor in our role as your Singapore process agent.

In the case of AML/KYC checks, we charge based on the number of companies that we need to perform such checks on.

The length of time

We can be your Singapore process agents, in some cases, for 10 years or more, but the length of the period will naturally have a bearing on the fees.

Similarly, for our AML/KYC checks, we can perform on-going checks throughout the year (and not just one-off checks) and at a frequency of your choice, if that is what you require.

Come and speak to us

We would be more than happy to chat and to get to meet your needs for either process agent services or to perform AML checks for you.
